The Wayfinders Project came about as we navigated parenting and living in alignment with our family values - family, adventure and travel experiences. The concept has evolved, as has the community, but we're grounded in purpose - To create practical ways for families and communities to hold young people close while giving them room to grow.
We believe that getting this right will impact everything from a sense of self-worth and belonging to addressing mental ill health and the chronic loneliness crises that grip modern society. It's our way of boldly tackling big issues, one family at a time.
Willo has a PhD in Medical Bionics and has coached accomplished professional women for the last six years. During that time, she noticed a common theme amongst her clients - the foundation of genuine wellbeing is a strong sense of self-worth. It was clear that women were losing it at some point, because everyone is born with it, and it all came down to those pivotal developmental years. She undertook leadership training at the Rites of Passage Institute and has since been facilitating these forgotten rituals, with a strong belief that if we get this right for our kids, we will be raising vibrant, grounded, purpose-driven young adults with a worldview, and that matters more than anything.
Tim has a degree in Primary Education from the University of Wollongong and has spent the last 15 years in Ed Tech building online courses in the Education sector. The Wayfinders World School App is Tim's creation in response to our desire to travel and school our children around the world. It is now in pilot with other homeschooling families. Tim believes that deep learning is experiential, and what better way to learn about the world than to experience it.
